**Flashback Friday** Mephisto is a World War I German tank, the only surviving example of an A7V, the rarest war relic in the world. It was abandoned by its crew after becoming stuck in a hole in a German attack at Villers-Bretonneux on the Western Front. Amazingly, it was recovered after the war 3 months later and taken to Australia as a trophy, landing in Brisbane in 1919 and housed at the Queensland Museum.
