Every year thousands of red crabs use Christmas Islands’s iconic crab bridge to assist them to travel to the coast safely during their annual migration. The team at Parks Australia erect fences of less than a foot high in the lead up to the migration, this fencing funnels the crabs to the bridge ensuring that they get over the road unharmed.
