What would it look like to orbit Mars in the International Space Station? NASA’s 2001 Mars Odyssey orbiter gave us a taste of what future astronauts might see by capturing stunning views of the Martian horizon from space. Odyssey, which orbits the Red Planet at the same altitude as the ISS orbits Earth (250 miles or 400 km above the surface), had to complete an innovative maneuver to capture this stunning view of the planet’s curving landscape below hazy layers of clouds and dust. go.nasa.gov/3u
