Reinforced concrete design detail for closing moment on frame corners. From a safety perspective, it is crucial for a concrete structure to exhibit not only sufficient load capacity but also ductile behavior to prevent a localized failure from causing a complete collapse of the structure. Detail 1 was regarded as challenging to execute correctly on-site. Consequently, a simpler alternative, Detail 2, was proposed and assessed in a project conducted at Chalmers University of Technology in Sweden.
