Oct 6, 2022 · I have tried almost everything to fix this issue. The Windows key works, but the start menu won't open. I also tried using the CTRL + ESC shortcut. Please do not tell me to run chkdsk nor sfc, I have tried this already (and numerous times). I tried updating my graphics card, removing updates, editing the registry and a lot more steps.

This actually works for me on my desktop computer running Windows 11 Home version 23H2 OS build 22631.2861, the latest update.

Scroll down and look for "Prevent users from customizing their Start screen", double-click on it and make sure its set to "Disabled". Click Apply then OK. Restart your computer and check if the issue is fixed.
