  1. Best AR caliber for hog hunting with supressor - Sniper's Hide

Mar 3, 2024 · I currently have an 20 inch .224 Valkyrie that I use for hogs. I don't hunt them very often, but I'm looking for a different upper or new rifle to use with my supressor. Since I have the supressor I would like a 16 inch for maneuverability. So what caliber would be …

  2. .22 ARC vs .6mm ARC for hogs | Sniper's Hide Forum

Jan 6, 2007 · I am about to finish building out a .22 ARC AR for coyotes and foxes at night. I am scheduled to go to Florida in February on a hog hunt. I typically use a 6.8 SPC AR-15 or my .308 AR-10. Will the.22 ARC be effective on hogs out to about 300 yards or should I go ahead and build a .6mm ARC upper...

  3. Recommended .22 WMR rifle and loads for hunting hogs?

Apr 23, 2020 · I know it sounds crazy, but these are the idiotic rules at a nearby military reservation that is infested with feral pigs: only rimfire weapons / ammunition are allowed, or shotguns with T shot or smaller, to hunt hogs. I figure if I can find an accurate rifle / load capable of penetrating the...

  4. Hunting & Fishing - .44 Magnum Hog Hunting | Sniper's Hide Forum

Dec 2, 2008 · Re: .44 Magnum Hog Hunting I use 240gr RN very hard cast, 12.5gr of Unique with a mag pistol primer and a heavy 0.010-0.015 roll crimp. Runs around 1450 fps from my 9.5" barreled Super Redhawk. The hard cast doesn't deform very much and just drills through whatever it hits, so for deep penetration on a tough animal like a hog. For jacketed bullets, 240 or 265 Flex tips are good stuff.

  5. Night Vision - Thermals or NVG for hogs | Sniper's Hide Forum

May 23, 2006 · Have opportunity to clear some land of hogs in Florida, right now I own a PVS14, and a 27. Never used either on hogs yet, was looking to add a Thermal either clip on or stand alone. Current budget is $4500. The drawbacks on the NVG is muzzle flash and quick second shots can be issue, also...

  6. Tripod recommendation | Sniper's Hide Forum

Jun 22, 2017 · Hog saddles prst would be my choice honestly... not a rediculous price on them and they are designed with the precision rifle shooter in mind. Short center column for rapid height adjustments, lever locking legs, supports plenty of weight, carbon fiber to shave pounds.

  7. Savage hog hunter upgrade | Sniper's Hide Forum

Sep 29, 2022 · I have a Savage hog hunter in .308 that I'm looking to upgrade to a LR rifle. I'm wanting to convert it to a removable magazine and upgrade the stock. If I buy a Bell and Carlson stock that is for a mag fed rifle and buy the stealth bottom metal from PTG, would I need anything else to do what I...

Oct 19, 2019 · I use 300blk primarily for my night time hog hunts. I wanted to start reloading them. I have been using 110 grain Vmax and 115 grain Lehigh Controlled...

  9. Recommendations on replacing the stock on a Savage 11 Hog …

Nov 26, 2007 · Bought the rifle a few years back. It's a hunting rifle in .308. Loves Hornady 155 over a healthy throw of Varget. Really stupid accurate for a $400 rifle. Right now it's still in the factory stock. Although the rifle hasn't moved in the stock, I would like something a …
