Aug 5, 2021 · The Harry Potter franchise is one those rare instances in which the films are better than the books. The books are certainly more detailed, but there is nothing in that detail that really adds anything, and the longer JK Rowling writes, the more clumsy, convoluted and filled with plot holes the story becomes.

Feb 18, 2023 · It really bothers me that people shit on the first 2 for that 2nd point of the clothing. It feels so much more unique and well WIZARDLY. The first time you see Dumbledore in the 3rd movie he looks like he's wearing something you'd see at bath and body not the foremost leader in Magic. The general grey pallet makes it feel more real in a bad way.

The scene at the end of Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets when Hagrid returns to the Great Hall and Harry says, “There’s no Hogwarts without you Hagrid” is so beautiful. The ‘gold’ colour scheme behind the first two films is so much better than the blue that formed the basis for films 3-8. Perhaps it’s my age.

Apr 16, 2018 · [Loyalty] This movie is notable to be the first Harry Potter book that is not too faithful to the books. While it may not have been able to cover everything, this film manages to stay faithful to the overall premise of the book while exploring new ideas along the way. (9/10)

I think the first film did the best job at portraying Hogwarts because it showed him in every single class (except history of magic) and seemed to capture the culture of hogwarts However, you would think they would have added some scenes of Harry casting spells and/or getting them right and him celebrating afterwards

The series is wildly successful, one of the most successful of all time, and I am interested in understanding why these mega-hits appear from time to time.

Apr 30, 2024 · The Harry Potter fandom was something else at the time. It really enriched my childhood and it was a huge part of me while growing up. I got the subsequent 3 books on the release day. Personally, I never enjoyed the movies. The books were the real deal although I still did watch all the movies in the theatre as I was a Harry Potter fan after all.
