After the International Football Association Board (IFAB) rejected a proposal from the Premier League and the Professional Footballers' Association (PFA) to conduct a trial of temporary concussion substitutes at its annual meeting on Saturday on 4 March, the Premier League has made the following statement:

Dec 17, 2020 · With player welfare the Premier League’s priority, clubs agreed in principle to introduce additional permanent concussion substitutions following approval of the trial by the International Football Association Board (IFAB) yesterday.

Jan 20, 2021 · Premier League Shareholders today formally agreed to introduce the International Football Association Board's (IFAB) additional permanent concussion substitutions trial. The trial will be confirmed when the implementation of the reporting processes, including private medical information, has been resolved with IFAB and FIFA.
