In a statement released on Tuesday afternoon, the NFL announced that it has suspended Addison without pay for the first three games of this season. This is standard discipline for a first offense relating to the use of alcohol in accordance with the NFL’s policy and program on substances of abuse.

Addison will be permitted to practice and play in exhibition games before the suspension kicks in for games against Chicago, Atlanta, and Cincinnati.

The suspension was handed down for a violation of the league’s substance abuse policy after Addison was arrested in July 2024 on a drunken driving citation and pleaded no contest in the case this summer.
