Two people are now facing charges for their alleged involvement in a 37-year-old man’s death over two years ago.

According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, nearly 1,000 recalls for vehicles, car seats and other equipment were made last year.

Gov. Jeff Landry announced Monday that the U.S. Department of War has authorized a six-month extension of the Louisiana National Guard’s security mission in the New Orleans area.

Louisiana National Guard troops will remain in New Orleans under federal orders through late summer as state and city leaders say the mission supports ongoing crime reduction efforts.
