Indian benchmark indices Nifty 50 and Sensex ended the previous trade session lower. Nifty 50 closed at 23,696.30, while Sensex ended at 78,271.28. Overnight Wall Street indices ended higher. Asian stocks too were in the green in early trade today.

The trends on Gift Nifty also indicate a positive start for the Indian benchmark index. The Gift Nifty was trading around 23,810 level, a premium of nearly 35 points from the Nifty futures’ previous close.

Indian stock market opens with gains as Nifty 50 holds above 23,700 and Sensex rises 190 points. IT stocks see a positive trend, while Swiggy shares drop 8 per cent.
