Denmark deploys additional troops to Greenland after President Donald Trump claims the island is not secure from Russia or China.

As his standoff with America's closest allies escalates, President Trump says not getting the Nobel Peace Prize means he's no longer obligated "to think purely of Peace."

He said he no longer thought "purely of Peace" as the row over the island threatened to reignite a trade war with Europe.

In late 2018, President Trump asked his national security adviser, John Bolton, to weigh in on an idea floated by a prominent businessman: Should the U.S. buy Greenland?Bolton said he would look into it.

Scott Bessent argued that Trump is “looking beyond next year to what could happen for a battle in the Arctic.”

Moscow has framed its invasion of Ukraine it started as a proxy war with NATO. and so it has seen its growing divisions with its main member over Trump’s ambitions to acquire Greenland as an opportunity to weaken the alliance at a critical time for the war.

The president warned in a message that he no longer feels “the obligation to think purely of peace” in his campaign to seize the Arctic territory, Norway's leader said Monday.
