Rory McIlroy may be becoming a divisive figure in PGA Tour clubhouses. McIlroy, once the ultimate LIV Golf antagonist, was outspoken this week in letting golfers who fled the PGA Tour back on without punishment as the rival leagues seemingly move closer to a union.

When pressed about the matter, McIlroy provided no answers — not out of spite or because he wanted to keep things close to the chest, but because he had been kept out of the loop. McIlroy resigned from the PGA Tour Policy Board in November 2023.
