After buying Twitter in 2022, Musk laid off over 6,000 Twitter employees, reducing the company’s headcount by around 80%. While Musk offered three months’ severance, the lawsuit claims that many former employees didn’t receive complete payments, while some didn’t receive any payment at all.

Elon Musk’s X (formerly Twitter) has reportedly reached a legal settlement with former Twitter workers who sued the platform after the billionaire bought it and fired them all. The settlements come after a longstanding effort by the platform to resist any sort of payout.

In October 2022, Elon Musk officially took over X and moved quickly to lay off over 70 percent of the workforce. Former staffers subsequently filed a lawsuit claiming they received only a month of severance pay or, in some cases, no severance at all.
