Jordan's air force launched on Tuesday the biggest air bridge so far to bring urgent medical supplies to Gaza under a U.S.-sponsored deal to step up deliveries following a ceasefire, officials said.

Jordan on Tuesday announced the launch of a humanitarian air bridge for Palestinians in the Gaza Strip. Speaking at a press conference in Amman, government spokesperson Mohammed Momani said several helicopters will transfer humanitarian aid shipments to Palestinians in Gaza over eight days, with 18 flights every day.

Jordan's air force has initiated a significant airlift operation delivering vital medical supplies to Gaza, following a U.S.-brokered ceasefire. The effort includes 16 helicopter flights daily and coordination with U.

Helicopters loaded with aid for people in the Gaza Strip were flown from Jordan to southern Israel on Tuesday.
