A boil water order has been issued for five Massachusetts towns: Abington, Rockland, Pembroke, Hanson, and Whitman.

Residents of six towns will need to boil water for drinking, cooking, brushing teeth and washing dishes “until further notice,” authorities said after detecting an E. coli bacterial contamination.
