HOUSTON — Matt Thomas, an award-winning journalist and former WFAA employee, died on Wednesday after a brief illness, according to his current employer, Houston Public Media. He was 41.

The veteran broadcaster joined Houston Public Media in 2022 after years reporting for KRLD and WFAA-TV in Dallas.
