Max Homa had Golf Twitter abuzz on Friday morning. And for once, it had nothing to do with anything he tweeted. The six-time PGA Tour winner got off to a red-hot start to his second round at the PGA Championship.

Max Homa has endured a trying season on the PGA Tour to say the least, but when it comes to the major championships, he’s been on his game. After missing the cut in his previous five tournaments, Homa somehow managed to pull it all together last month at the Masters to finish just outside of the top 10.

The six-time PGA Tour winner relished in the Carolina pines and stood as tall as they did posting his best major championship round to date. A 7-under 64 -- three strokes better than his prior best and the 11th-best major championship round since the start of 2023 -- pushed Homa's name from outside the top 70 to inside the top five.
