First, they extended the contract of George Kittle. They followed that move up more recently with a lucrative contract extension for quarterback Brock Purdy. Kittle received a four-year, $76.4 million deal from the 49ers.

Purdy’s push paid off this week with a five-year contract extension that will pay him an average of $45 million a season once the remaining year of his current deal is taken into account.

Now, the 49ers are in a position with all of their key players extended that they can focus on preparations for the 2025 season when OTAs begin on May 27.
