Gastonia police, a K9 officer, and a county deputy surprised 3-year-old Rylen with a birthday visit after his mom called the non-emergency line.

The Gastonia Police Department said Rylen turned three years old and his mom called the department's non-emergency number, asking if there was a patrol unit down the street so Rylen could see them.
