The Atlanta Falcons are entering their fifth draft under general manager Terry Fontenot, but for the first time in five years, they don't have a top-10 pick. The team has mostly hit on its first-round picks since Fontenot took over in 2021. Even former No. 4 pick Kyle Pitts had the best rookie season by a tight end in 60 years.
On offense, Atlanta will be returning 10 out of 11 starters, all the while the defense remains questionable. Look for Atlanta to focus heavily on defense, especially within the first three rounds of the draft, and possibly draft two Georgia Bulldogs within those rounds.
The Falcons remain committed to keeping quarterback Kirk Cousins, unless they can find a deal good for all parties involved.
The Atlanta Falcons were 8-9 in 2024, and if the projected win totals coming out of Vegas are to believed, they're going backwards in 2025.
Cousins turns 37 this summer and has “clearly communicated” to Atlanta that he wants to spend his remaining NFL years as a starter. Cousins is willing to waive his no-trade clause to find somewhere to make that happen and, lucky for him, the Falcons are on the same page.
