Wheesung, who was also known as Realslow, launched his career in 1999 as a member of the K-pop group A4. By 2002, he released his debut solo album Like a Movie, which saw him fuse R&B and K-pop.

Wheesung was more than just a singer—he was a pioneer in South Korea’s R&B scene who will be always remembered for his soul-stirring vocals and heartfelt lyrics.

But Wheesung's sentence now remains unchanged, and he will serve two years on probation. If the singer were to violate the rules of the probation, he would receive a prison sentence.

Wheesung stated that the drug was taken due to a herniated disc in his spine as well as partial hair loss. On July 10, 2013, he was cleared of the suspicions.

Wheesung, whose real name was Choi Whee Sung, debuted in 2002 with his ballad album Like a Movie, but quickly pivoted to R&B the following year with his second album, It's Real.
