Colorado coach Deion Sanders was away from the team over the offseason as he was treated for a cancerous tumor in his bladder, he announced during a press conference on Monday with his doctors. Coach Prime underwent surgery to remove the bladder and was found to be cured of the cancer.

Colorado coach Deion Sanders revealed he had bladder cancer and had surgery which kept him away from campus this summer.

Sanders held a news conference to reveal the news as Colorado embarks on fall camp ahead of the 2025 season. Dr. Janet Kukreja, Sanders' doctor at the University of Colorado Cancer Center, said Sanders had his bladder removed after a malignant tumor was found and that he had been "cured" from the cancer.
