Samsung and Google's partnership is still going strong, bringing Gemini AI features to Samsung's foldables lineup. At Samsung Unpacked, Google's senior VP of devices and services Rick Osterloh came onstage to announce Gemini-powered AI features for the new Samsung Z Fold 7.

Today, Samsung held its big Galaxy Unpacked event. As expected, the company officially launched the Galaxy Z Fold 7, Galaxy Z Flip 7, and Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE. While there may already be plenty of reasons to order one of these new foldables, Samsung is sweetening the deal with an offer AI enthusiasts will appreciate.

With its new foldable lineup, Samsung's trying to attract a broader segment of users to its most significant new phone format in years.

At its Samsung Unpacked July 2025 event, the company eased the public's concerns, reassuring users that even as the suite of AI features continues to grow with the new One UI 8 features and devices, users will be able to continue to access Galaxy AI for free.

Samsung Electronics on Tuesday projected a far worse than expected 56% plunge in second-quarter operating profit due to weak AI chip sales, deepening investor concerns over the tech giant's ability to revive its struggling semiconductor business.

According to the smart estimates, Samsung was expected to post an operating profit of 6.26 trillion won ($4.57 billion) for the quarter.

The South Korean technology giant has been struggling to catch up with smaller chip-making rivals SK Hynix and Micron Technology, which have benefited from brisk shipments of higher-end AI chips.
