The Trump administration lashed out Monday against New York City officials over their sanctuary policies as authorities arrested a second man living in the country illegally in connection with the nonfatal shooting of an off-duty U.

Department of Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem blamed New York City officials and “sanctuary city policies” for the shooting of an off-duty US Customs and Border Protection officer in an apparent robbery gone wrong over the weekend.

An off-duty U.S. Customs and Border Protection officer was shot late Saturday night at a park in NYC, the Department of Homeland Security confirmed.
