Police say one person is dead after a shooting early Thursday morning in St. Paul, Minnesota. The shooting happened shortly after midnight on the 1500 block of University Avenue West, outside of the Midway Saloon.

Midway, as it says right there in the name, sits smack between downtown St. Paul and downtown Minneapolis. Walkable, accessible, a hub for bus and light-rail lines, close to college campuses, locally owned shops and some fantastic Asian and African specialty food markets. A place of infinite promise.

St. Paul police are investigating a fatal shooting that happened overnight in the Midway neighborhood. According to St. Paul PD, officers responded shortly after midnight Thursday to a shooting in the 1500 block of University Avenue West outside of the Midway Saloon.
