While the pitching staff battles numerous injury setbacks, reinforcements arrived on the mound with the return of Emmet Sheehan from Tommy John surgery, which he underwent in May of 2024. In his appearance against the Padres, Sheehan pitched four innings, yielding just one run while registering six strikeouts.
