A longstanding state senator from St. Paul, Pappas was horrified to learn that the Champlin senator and his wife Yvette had been shot multiple times early Saturday morning by a masked gunman.

Minnesota man Vance Luther Boelter has been charged in the killings of Minnesota House Speaker Melissa Hortman and her husband Mark. Boelter is accused of using GPS tracking and online databases to target more than 45 officials,

SHEBOYGAN COUNTY – A man suspected of shooting two Minnesota lawmakers worked at Johnsonville and owned a home in Sheboygan County. A Johnsonville spokesperson confirmed to the Sheboygan Press that Vance Luther Boelter, 57, worked at the company between 2004 and 2008.

Robert Davis Forney, 25, was arraigned in Atlanta on two federal counts of communicating threats in interstate commerce, according to court records.

Utah Sen. Mike Lee earned rebuke from across the aisle after his controversial posts on the Minnesota shooting.

"I wanted him to know how much pain that caused me and the other people in my state," Democratic Sen. Tina Smith said, referring to GOP Sen. Mike Lee.
