David Meneou, 65, of Lockport, lived to care for his 20-year-old son, who had developmental disabilities. Both died after being pulled from Lake Michigan this past weekend.

A good Samaritan pulled David Meneou, 65, of Joliet, and his son, Jameson Meneou, 20, of Lockport, from the water before first responders arrived. The victims were then transported to a local hospital where they died.

A father and son drowned in Lake Michigan near Indiana Dunes National Park, with rescue efforts challenged by the remote location. They were pronounced dead despite CPR efforts.
