Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu of Israel said Wednesday he had agreed to join U.S. President Donald Trump's Board of Peace, after his office earlier criticized makeup of the board.
Lindsey Graham, a staunch pro-Israel Republican senator, gave voice to the shifting tides in Washington earlier this month by claiming that, with Israel “apparently” wanting to change the US aid system, he would seek to “dramatically expedite” the timetable to do so.
It was not immediately clear if Israel had accepted the invitation. The Prime Minister's Office did not respond to Reuters's request for comment.
The comment from Israeli Economy Minister Nir Barkat came after Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif signed the 'Board of Peace' charter along with 20 other countries at the World Economic Forum (WEF) in Davos.
