The Denver Broncos are losing another assistant coach to a promotion after Chris Banjo was hired by the New York Jets on Wednesday.

Denver still hasn't filled its special teams coordinator role after moving on from Ben Kotwica after its wild-card loss in Buffalo.

Aaron Glenn is starting to fill out his coaching staff and is bringing Steve Heiden from Detroit to be the Jets' offensive line coach, according to a report from NFL Media's Tom Pelissero. Heiden, 48, has 12 years of coaching experience in the NFL and spent the past two seasons with the Lions as a tight ends coach.

A source said Wednesday the Jets are hiring Denver assistant special teams coach Chris Banjo as their special teams coordinator. That follows the Jets last Saturday naming Broncos assistant general manager Darren Mougey as general manager.

According to NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo and reports from ESPN, Dallas is expected to interview Chris Banjo and Carlos Polk for its special teams coordinator role. Both Banjo and Polk stood out as special teams contributors throughout their NFL playing careers.
