The Las Vegas Raiders suffered a huge disappointment on Monday. Their favorite head coach prospect, Ben Johnson, was officially appointed as the head coach of the Chicago Bears, leaving the Raiders in the dust and looking for other options.

Brian Flores interviewed for the Jets’ head-coaching position on Friday and could be a strong candidate for the job. The former Dolphins head coach has more than 20 years of NFL experience. He has been Minnesota’s defensive coordinator since 2023 and employs a blitz-heavy scheme.

Lamar Jackson has been maligned by the sports media even as he’s been named the Most Valuable Player in the NFL in 2019 and 2023. But the man that many have said is a legitimately great QB is, unsurprisingly, Allen, a white man who plays for one of the whitest fan bases in the NFL.

The Bears have confirmed interviewing 15 candidates, a list highlighted by Detroit Lions offensive coordinator Ben Johnson, former Seattle Seahawks coach Pete Carroll, former Green Bay Packers and Dallas Cowboys coach Mike McCarthy and former Tennessee Titans coach Mike Vrabel, who got the job in New England.

Denver’s defensive coordinator, Vance Joseph, is not among the five Assistant Coach of the Year finalists.
