The Eagles tried their own trick play — the “Philly Special” — in the fourth quarter when Foles caught a pass from Trey Burton for a touchdown. Philadelphia won, 41-33, despite Brady throwing for three touchdowns and 505 yards.
As for the “catch” reference, Brady failed to reel in a reception off a trick play during Super Bowl LII. During a 3rd-and-5 play in the second quarter, New England dialed up a play where James White flipped the ball over to Danny Amendola, who tossed up the ball to a sprinting Brady down the field.
