The Architect was created by the Machines, and he in turn created the Matrix. The Architect's counterpart within the Matrix is the Oracle - a role shared by Gloria Foster and Mary Alice.

Morpheus was famously played by Laurence Fishburne in The Matrix trilogy but the actor was replaced in the 2024 sequel, The Matrix Resurrections.
