A lawsuit filed Tuesday in federal court in San Francisco against the PlayerAuctions gaming marketplace may provide the answer to an important question for online gamers.

Roblox is rolling out virtual billboards with video advertisements, the gaming platform said on Wednesday, in its latest move to draw revenue from its games that are mostly free to play.

The name Roblox was a mash-up of the words "robot" and blocks" – and it stuck. The platform grew quickly in popularity – and there were also early warning signs of its future issues.

Roblox says its paid experiences will launch on personal computers later this year, with plans to expand to all other devices in the future.
