The Crouton project makes it simple to install a full Linux desktop operating system on a Chromebook.

But just because there’s not a lot of room on a Chromebook or Chromebox doesn’t mean you can’t install a second operating system and run some native desktop-style apps.

Enter Ubuntu: with just a few minutes of work, you can get a full-fledged Linux desktop up and running on some solid Chromebook hardware, making for a pretty great laptop.
