YouTube is testing out the ability for free users to download videos without Premium. It leaves out a major Premium perk, though.

One app that's never faced these issues is Downie for Mac. Downie is a one-click video downloader for hundreds of websites, including YouTube, Instagram, Reddit, Facebook, Vimeo, and many more.

The only legal way to download YouTube videos on your Mac is with a YouTube Premium subscription.
