BitLocker is officially only available for Windows 10/11 Pro. However, the tool is actually also included in the Home versions, just hidden.

Microsoft has released out-of-band updates to fix a known issue causing Windows 10 systems to boot into BitLocker recovery after installing the May 2025 security updates.

Microsoft has added new BitLocker encryption guides on its official website. These are meant to explain to users what BitLocker does and how to recover and/or back up the necessary BitLocker keys.
