Efforts to get more truck drivers on the road are taking place in several states with new community commercial driver license training programs and expanded third-party testing locations.
Black River Technical College (BRTC) is offering a new Commercial Driver’s License training program this summer, where students can get a Class A CDL license within a month.
In 2025, the program plans to train 40 Class A and 100 Class C drivers. In Nevada, five-week CDL classes are also being expanded at Western Nevada College in Carson City.
The Clark State College’s Commercial Transportation Training Center will offer weekend courses to obtain a CDL Class A license starting in January.
The CDL: Class A program will begin on February 3, 2025, for day starts and February 22, 2025, for weekend starts, at Miller-Motte in Raleigh. Enrollment is now open.
