US President Donald Trump threatened his former advisor Elon Musk with “serious consequences” on Saturday if the tech billionaire seeks to punish Republicans who vote for a controversial spending bill.

Elon Musk has been using President Donald Trump 's past criticisms of raising the debt ceiling against him as he continues to attack the "big, beautiful bill." The former Trump ally shared several posts on X from the president, dating back more than a decade.

For all the insults that Mr. Musk and Mr. Trump traded on Thursday, don’t be surprised if they make up again days from now. In the meantime, they both benefit.
