WICHITA, Kan. (KWCH) - After a nice break from the heat Thursday, the warming trend is about to kick into high gear this weekend with highs in the mid to upper 90s. While a few thunderstorms are possible, on a large scale this weekend forecast continues to look mainly dry.

Spotty storms are possible in Kansas City on Friday, July 18, with highs in the upper 80s. A heat wave follows this weekend and next week.
