SEPTA passengers were evacuated from the morning train in Eastern Montco and directed to find other transit during the busy a.m. commute.

SEPTA’s Doylestown Line is delayed Thursday morning because of a fire reported on or under a train at Oreland Station. Officials said the train was evacuated and the fire was quickly extinguished.

The fire started in a commercial building on Sunday afternoon, and firefighters worked through the night to contain it. Train service was disrupted on Monday.

Investigators determined that a mechanical failure in the diesel engine led to the fire.
