The studio’s live-action video game adaptation is set for theatrical release on March 26, 2027, with Nintendo announcing the news on their app on Friday morning. Wes Ball, who helmed last year’s Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes, is directing the feature that has not yet announced plot details or a cast.

Nintendo was hesitant to greenlight an adaptation of the beloved fantasy video game until the massive success of the Super Mario Bros. Movie. Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes and The Maze Runner trilogy helmer Wes Ball is set to direct (and he's already said a few things about his vision for the film that has made us very, very excited).

Nintendo, very early in the AM LA time, announced via their Nintendo Today! app that the live-action film of The Legend of Zelda will hit theatres on March 26, 2027. Wes Ball is directing and Shigeru Miyamoto and Avi Arad are producing.
