Alabama is bracing for a round of severe weather Saturday with the possibility for strong storms, tornadoes and flooding.

The public safety director advises Meridian area residents to have multiple ways to receive warning information: local TV and radio, the Internet, NOAA Weather Radio, outdoor sirens and from family, friends and co-workers.

It marks only the third time since at least 2006 that the highest risk level has been issued the day before an expected outbreak.
