Scarlett Johansson is looking back on filming The Avengers and said it initially “felt like a big mess.” The Black Widow star remembered the lead-up to the 2012 film team-up connecting the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Johansson, whose character Black Widow died in the 2019 multiverse feature, told Vanity Fair that the film was worthy of Academy attention. “Avengers: Endgame” was nominated for visual effects, but no acting or Best Picture nods.

It was an impossible movie that should not have worked, that really works as a film,” the ‘Eleanor the Great’ director admitted.
