A major winter storm is bearing down on the Twin Cities and it could bring a foot — or much more — of snow. The National Weather Service said Saturday morning that a broad area of 12 to 16 inches is likely, with more possible in the northern half of the metro and in western Wisconsin. A localized band could approach 20 inches.
