As recovery efforts ramp up across Jamaica after Hurricane Melissa, some residents are finally able to reconnect with their loved ones thanks to one unlikely stretch of roadway in St. Ann Parish.

With power down, problems with communications and navigating parts of the island treacherous, the authorities in Jamaica have not yet been able to give a detailed assessment of the damage inflicted by Hurricane Melissa. But the devastating impact of the Category 5 storm on communities is starting to be revealed by satellite imagery.

Starlink, the satellite internet service in Elon Musk's business empire, will be free to people in Jamaica and the Bahamas amid Hurricane Melissa.
