Previously sealed court documents outline further corruption concerns against New York City Mayor Eric Adams. Newly unsealed documents from the mayor’s high-profile corruption case show Adams allegedly planned to accept donations from Turkey in his 2025 reelection bid.

A cache of documents in the now-dismissed Eric Adams corruption case was unsealed Friday evening. The documents come after the New York Times filed a motion for release of the material, which neither prosecutors or the defense opposed.

The New York Times and the New York Post asked a federal judge to publish the materials. The investigative documents foreshadow what the prosecution’s theory of the case would have been. Prosecutors told different companies they wanted records because they were investigating possible illegal straw donations to Adams’ campaign and a scheme to open the new Turkish consulate before a visit from Turkey’s president.
