Former Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) national executive member N. Sivarajan kicked up a controversy by demanding that the party’s saffron flag be made Indian national flag in place of the Tricolour.

BJP leader N Sivarajan's remarks come against the backdrop of a row in Kerala over the use of the image of Bharat Mata astride a lion holding a saffron flag -- an image widely associated with the RSS.
