Braves call up a left-handed relief pitcher to help out in the bullpen until starter Spencer Strider is officially activated off the IL

Atlanta cleared the path for Spencer Strider to return to the big leagues by optioning Bryce Elder to Triple-A.

Right-hander Spencer Strider is set to make his return to the Atlanta Braves rotation. A rehab assignment need not apply. Manager Brian Snitker said on Thursday that Strider will be back when they head to Washington next week.
